Our School - Longspee Secondary
Our school is one of four specials schools within the Ambitions Academies Trust.
Longspee Secondary is a specialist provision for students with an Education Health Care Plan (EHCP) aged 11-16, with Autism alongside other complex needs such as SEMH.
We are located in Ensbury Park alongside 3 other schools that back onto the fields at Slades Farm.
The school has been open since 2021, and has modern classrooms including specialist Science, Cookery, Art and fitness areas. There is also a Hard court sports, outdoor fitness and gardening areas.
All students are taught in small classes of no more than 7 pupils. Each class has a class teacher and access to at least 1 teaching assistant. Teachers teach across the curriculum to enable strong trusting relationships to be built. However, as pupils progress through the school, the amount of lessons with different specialist teachers increases. This prepares pupils to manage change and also provides specialist teaching ready for GCSEs and other qualifications.
Each class has access to a pastoral team supporting with engagement and offering interventions to aid with both academic and non-academic progress.
We are consistent yet flexible in our approach, so to meet different individual needs and be ambitious and successful for all our pupils.
