School Council - Longspee Secondary
Longspee Academy values the involvement of its students in decision making: we are powerful when we co-create together.
The aims of the School Council are to promote a shared sense of ownership and responsibility for the school and to encourage pupils to take an active role in our school community.
Our aim is to make pupils feel comfortable and happy at school and School Council provides the familiar and safe format where all are welcome to present their ideas, debate and think critically.
The School Council involves students in whole school decisions and allows them to have a say on the things they think are most important
We achieve this through a very active School Council made up of an elected school councillor from each class group.
The school council has been pivotal in many areas including, the development of the activity stations in the outdoor area, involvement in the organisation of school coffee afternoons and have added important input on school policies.
